Noon Papers

Here are the Western Conference newspapers.

- Frank Landry of the Edmonton Sun discusses Daryl Katz's $188 million offer to buy the Edmonton Oilers. This deal might be too good for Chairman of the Board Cal Nichols and the Edmonton Oilers Investors Group to pass up.
- There are a lot of questions to be answered, as the Kings lost again Thursday night, 4-1 to the Dallas Stars, writes Lisa Dillman of the Los Angeles Times.
- Jean Lefebvre of the Calgary Herald recaps last night's 9-6 Calgary Flames victory over the Tampa Bay Lightning. Huselius and Phaneuf each had five points.
- The Vancouver Canucks made it interesting in the third period of Thursday night's game againt San Jose, but eventually tired out in a 5-2 loss, writes Gordan Mcintyre of the Vancouver Province.
- Rick Sadowski of the Rocky Mountain News shares some observations at the 33.333% mark of the NHL's regular season.
- The Minnesota Wild have been hit by the nasty flu bug, writes Michael Russo of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune. Gaborik, Shepperd, Voros, Belanger and Schultz all missed yesterday's practice.
- Mike McCarthy has been named vice-chairman of the St.Louis Blues, writes Jeremy Rutherford of the St.Louis Post Dispatch.
- John Glennon of tennessean.com says the Preds just aren't getting any breaks and are making miscues at the wrong times. Nashville was defeated by the Avalanche 2-1 on Thursday night.

Please stay tuned for the Eastern Conference newspapers.
