The 2008 Stanley Cup Finals Live Blog Entries continue on Illegal Curve with extensive coverage of tonight's Game 6 between the Detroit Red Wings and the Pittsburgh Penguins (8 p.m. ET., CBC, NBC) at Mellon Arena (I will not be at Mellon Arena but will instead be in my basement with a plate of nachos, a cold beer and my laptop).
Pittsburgh shocked the hockey world on Monday by winning Game 5 in Triple Overtime, thus forcing a sixth game in Pennsylvania and putting Detroit's champagne campaign on hold. One thing was certain on Monday night, there was no shortage of heroes for Pittsburgh: Maxime Talbot, who scored with 33 seconds left in the third period to force overtime, Petr Sykora, who predicted he would score in the Pens dressing room, then delivered on the power play in overtime and Marc-Andre Fleury, who made 55 saves (some of them larcenous) for his 14th win of the postseason.
Can the energized Penguins continue their comeuppance from a 3-1 series deficit or will the veteran-laden Wings finally end Pittsburgh's misery. The only way you can find out is to watch the game with Illegal Curve.
