The amount of negative press the NHL has received recently is frightening. Samueli has done a great job turning the Ducks around along with Brian Burke, as the league stated; however, the NHL could not overlook Samueli's plea agreement (especially with all the recent troubles of William Del Biaggio) and had to take a serious course of action.

What does this suspension actually do??
It is a good question. In reality it doesn't do much at all. It just prevents the owner from being "hands on." However, I'm pretty sure that whatever message Samueli wants to get across, he can quite easily.
